Introducing the new CMI cable gage, a precision device for measuring cable wear.  Sized to fit 1/2" , 3/8" and 1/4" cables. Features a hole on one end for attaching to harness via a small piece of accessory cord and anodized bright red for visibility.  New cables will not fit into the grooves. Once a cable has worn down 5%, the cable will slip into the groove indicating the need to replace it. CMI highly recommends that cable wear be checked on a regular basis to ensure the safety of zipline users.

A must when connecting cable to nut eye bolts or ovaleye bolts. Keeps the cable from flattening around the eye causing the cable to weaken. Also used in eyespliced ropes. *When using a guy thimble with cable, match thimble size to cable. When using with Multiline Rope use thimble one size smaller than rope diameter.

The redesigned mid-grip features a hexagon bolt head that fits securely into a forged, hex-shaped socket that prevents spinning even after repeated use and re-torqueing. Also known as a double grip clip. The design allows the installer to turn their wrench freely since the other nut is on the opposite side. More important, when these clips are removed from your zip-line cable for adjustments they don't leave the horrible crimps in the cable that Drop Froged Wire Rope Clips do.

Method Of Application

The correct way to attach wire rope clips is illustrated to the right.

1. Apply the first clip one base width from the dead end of the wire rope. The base or saddle should bear on the line end of the rope - U-bolt on the short end. Tighten nuts firmly.
2. Attach second clip as close to loop as possible. Tighten nuts but not firmly.
3. Attach balance of clips spaced equally between first two clips. Tighten all nuts completely. Apply initial load - inspect nuts and retighten. Inspect all clips periodically.
